I've been talking for awhile now about wanting a space on the internet that feels like mine. Yes, I've had a substack newsletter for 5+ years now, and it still feels like the most soulless space. I can't stand looking at it. I try to write posts there that thoughtfully engage with my environment, what's happening in the world, and how I attempt to write about it, and it all gets flattened out to look the same as everything else written on substack. So, I'm finally learning basic html, and I'm going to try and make my own blog. This has been largely thanks to a lovely tutorial and templates from Zonelets (I'll link when I learn how to link, but look them up on itch.io) in which they write: "The idea that only experts can mess with the internet outside of social media benefits powerful (and generally evil) tech companies at the expense of ordinary people!" I agree with this!

So now that I've figured out how to make a paragraph, it's back to the books to learn more about this and keep trying. Hopefully, if you're familair with my newsletter Sex Weather Climate Death, you'll look me up here and find writing that makes you think, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, but probably more frequently than before. That's all for now - xo Cal
